Anya LOVES her GT class. She goes every day for an hour or so in the afternoon. There are only 4 other kids in her class and they get to work on special projects. For a while they were studying the presidents and I loved having Anya come home so excited and teaching me all about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. It is so cute how excited she gets about passing on her knowledge.
Her main GT project was to do a weather report. She was assigned thunderstorms. She did the research online (with my help) and typed up her report. The typing took some time but she was so proud of herself! She included pictures of thunderstorms, too. It looked so official in the report protector. She is growing up!
I wanted to share her report! We are so proud of Anya and all her hard work! Oh, and she gets to do the weather report on the morning announcements on Friday! I can't wait to hear her! :)

A thunderstorm is a storm with thunder and lightning. A thunderstorm happens when warm air and the cold rain run into each other. A thunderstorm can happen anywhere. They usually happen in the afternoon or evening.
To prepare for a thunderstorm you should pick up tree branches in your yard. During a thunderstorm you should stay inside your house and be far away from the window. If you are outside and it is too far away to get to a building you should find a field away from trees and get as low to the ground as you can.
A thunderstorm can flood the streets and it can get very, very windy. In can cause some hail which are little frozen ice balls. Thunderstorms can cause tornadoes and you could get struck by lightning.
